Job/Internship Description

The Innovation and Development Division (IDD) drives the innovation strategy for the Hubs and Operations, and contributes to the Group's transformation. It is responsible for imagining, developing and incubating new solutions until they are brought to market, particularly when it comes to offers with a high technological content (including digital and IT). IDD gathers more than 3,000 employees from 70 nationalities at 60 sites.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The product development intern will provide support for the design and development of new or improved products and processes for the Global Markets and Technology businesses.
The product development intern will work as part of the Advanced Technology team and collaborate with other team members to design, test, and implement systems and components for use with hollow fiber membranes and life critical molecules.
Support configuration and revision control of all relevant engineering data via PDM system.
Thoroughly document and record all relevant data, calculations, and observations, and create summaries for peer review.

Required

  • Rising Junior or Senior in Mechanical Engineering

  • CAD skills including SolidWorks and AutoCad or equivalent

  • Demonstrates strong process and operational safety behavior at all times

  • Innovation - the ability to contribute to the design of novel equipment and new products

  • Ability to work independently and in small teams, in a way that enhances team dynamics

  • Individuals should expect to work in a combination of office, lab, and manufacturing environments with modest and part-time support from lab technicians and operators

  • Hands-on problem solving aptitude and willingness to inspect and evaluate the hardware designs under consideration, setting up and conducting engineering-level tests, etc.

  • Capable of clear and concise written and verbal communication through reports, status updates, presentations, etc.

  • Able to interface with peers and team members (local and remote) to provide critical information and support organizational goals

  • Data organization and analysis

  • Technical and SOP writing skills

Preferred

  • Experience in an internship or professional environment

  • Familiarity with standard plant unit operations and the ability to assist and/or build prototype systems

  • Experience with product development processes such as Stage-Gate

  • The day-to-day tasks in this position are fluid so strong time management and organizational skills are preferred

Working Conditions

  • The individual's working environment will vary depending on specific activities on any given day, but generally will rotate between office, laboratory, and membrane manufacturing facility areas.

  • The individual will be required to wear appropriate PPE as mandated by the facility.

This position is identified as "safety-sensitive" and is subject to random drug testing in accordance with the current Drug and Alcohol Policy and/or state law.

The candidate must have valid unrestricted employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
